Public Transport Law

Mobility issues, to which public transport law applies, generally have a multidisciplinary character.

This is why Pels Rijcken's Public Transport Law team does not only consist of specialists in the area of public transport law but also of experts in the areas of procurement law, subsidy regulations and contract law. The team works like a well-oiled machine due to the long-standing and successful cooperation of its members.

Having this diverse legal expertise is a requirement for this field of law. In addition it is necessary to be able to cooperate well with the client's experts as well as with others, such as traffic experts and financial specialists. The team has ample practical experience with the required multidisciplinary collaboration. Due to this experience Pels Rijcken is able to comply perfectly with the wishes and requirements of transport authorities and other authorities when helping to resolve mobility issues.

The Public Transport Law team is involved - among other things - in the granting of the new transport concession to the Dutch Railways (NS) by the central government, the granting of a new, multimodal transport concession by the Province of Limburg, the litigation regarding the granting of a transport concession for the Waddenveren, the cooperation between Dutch Railways and HTM and the resolution of problems with the public transportation chip card.
