Esther Schaake was admitted to the Dutch Bar in 2012 and focuses on issues specific to government. She joined the Pels Rijcken team in 2016, specialising in the area of the social domain (Social Support Act and Youth Act). She also represents local authorities in principal proceedings that set precedents relevant to the sector. She is also specialises in subsidy law, administrative monetary debts and compensation.
Esther is a member of the editorial staff of the publication Jurisprudence for Municipalities (JG) and Healthcare Law Updates (GZR). She is also a guest lecturer for the Association of Dutch Municipalities and at the University of Amsterdam, where she was awarded her master’s degree in Health Law.
