Ewoud de Vries was admitted to the Dutch Bar in 2002 and joined Pels Rijcken in 2016. Ewoud specialises in real estate law and tenancy law and has broad experience in issues concerning (renewable) energy, including leasehold arrangements for wind farms and rights of superficies for cogeneration. Ewoud is familiar with the commercial side of the energy market in the Netherlands and in that capacity has advised on many business-to-business energy contracts. He has also been involved in large property transactions, leases and due diligence work. Ewoud advises property developers, real estate owners and municipalities in real estate transactions, and assists in property developments, area developments and lease transactions, as well as sustainable energy projects.
Ewoud graduated with a master’s degree in Dutch Law from the University of Groningen. He also completed the course in Energy Law at VU Amsterdam. Ewoud began his career at Steins Bisschop Meijburg & Co., then moved to Faasen & Partners and later was senior legal counsel at RWE Energy Nederland. Prior to joining Pels Rijcken, Ewoud was a senior associate at DLA Piper. Ewoud is fluent in English and German.
