Frank van Tienen joined Pels Rijcken’s Administrative Law department in 2016. Frank’s primary focus is economic administrative law. He acts on behalf of regulatory authorities in the telecommunications, healthcare and energy markets. Within his general administrative practice, the emphasis is on cases where the political-administrative context plays an important role. Aspects of constitutional law, government transparency and intergovernmental relations are often central in these cases.
Frank obtained his master’s degree cum laude in Economics and Dutch Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam. In addition, he studied for some time in Spain at the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid. He was previously a teaching assistant and researcher at the Erasmus School of Law. In 2013, he was part of the winning team in the (administrative law) VAR Moot Court Competition.
