Jaap van der Valk specialises in civil real estate and advises and litigates in matters concerning tenancy law, purchase and sale, real rights and educational buildings. Not only does he act on behalf of public authorities, such as the Dutch State, provinces and municipalities, he also represents private parties. Jaap is a broadly oriented, pragmatic and a solution-driven lawyer, with work experience in complex organisations.
Jaap started his career at Pels Rijcken. He then spent a few years in the international legal profession at HBN Law in Curaçao, journalism, practised law in Zeeland, was inhouse counsel, and lectured at the HZ University of Applied Sciences. He re-joined Pels Rijcken in 2016. In 2017, he completed the Grotius Specialist programme in Real Estate Law cum laude.
