Maartje de Wit has been working as a lawyer at Pels Rijcken since February 2020. Her practice focuses on diverse aspects of European law, in particular the internal market and state aid. She advises ministries, supervisory bodies and local and regional authorities and represents them in both administrative law and civil law proceedings.
Maartje completed the bachelor's degree in Law at VU University Amsterdam and the master's degree in International and European Law at the University of Amsterdam cum laude. She also studied for a semester in Halifax, Canada. Previously, she completed an internship at the Spatial Planning & Environment department and at the European Law department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2019, her master's thesis was awarded the annual thesis prize from the Dutch Association for European Law. Maartje is also a member of this association.
