Marieke de Vries joined Pels Rijcken’s Construction and Procurement Law team in 2008. Marieke assists contracting authorities in organising (complex) procurement procedures. Her particular interest is in procurement and tendering in the healthcare sector and the social domain. She also assists clients with construction projects and (area) development. Marieke litigates regularly, both in civil courts and arbitral tribunals. She is often involved in drafting contracts, including shipbuilding contracts.
Marieke graduated with a master’s degree in European Law from Leiden University. She regularly lectures on procurement law, and previously was a lecturer at VU Law Academy. She is a member of the Dutch Association for Procurement Law, the Construction Lawyers Association and the Netherlands Association for European Law. She is fluent in English and has a good command of French.
