Myrte Berkvens was admitted to the Dutch Bar in 2010 and specialises in civil real estate law and tenancy law. She advises various Dutch public authorities as well as real estate investors, property developers and other commercial real estate parties. Myrte is mainly involved in the acquisition, letting, redevelopment, renovation and sale of real estate. She also assists various public authorities in expropriation proceedings. Myrte is an experienced litigator in cases related to real estate.
Myrte received her master’s degree in Dutch Civil Law from Utrecht University in 2009. She completed the specialist programme in tenancy law of the Dutch Association of Landlord and Tenant Law Practitioners cum laude. Myrte started her career at Ekelmans & Meijer Advocaten and joined Pels Rijcken in 2017. Myrte regularly writes on topics in her field of expertise. She is a member of: the editorial team of Kluwer’s Groene Serie Huurrecht and of Euroforum’s Nieuwsbrief Huurrecht (Tenancy Law Newsletter). She is also a member of the Dutch Association of Landlord and Tenant Law Practitioners and of the Expropriation Law Association.
