Paul Tanja has been a lawyer with Pels Rijcken since 2020. He assists clients in civil proceedings up to and including at the Supreme Court. He has a broad (cassation) practice, with an emphasis on contract law, liability law and procedural law. Paul also represents clients in arbitration proceedings (NAI, ICC), including disputes regarding the setting aside and enforcement of arbitral awards. He has handled cases for clients in a variety of sectors, including energy, gas, advertising exploitation, construction (including FIDIC), finance, and government.
Paul completed his Dutch Law studies at Utrecht University. He also studied at the University of Cambridge. Paul previously worked for five years as a lawyer at BarentsKrans and before that as an external court clerk at the Court of Appeal in The Hague. He also teaches international contract law at the VU. Paul publishes regularly in his field.
