Saskia Bouwman joined Pels Rijcken in 2016. As a member of the Supreme Court team, she litigates and advises on all aspects of civil (procedural) law. She has litigated in cases involving compensation for damages, statute of limitation and contract law, and is particularly experienced in government liability and expropriation law. Saskia primarily represents governments and companies. In addition, Saskia also regularly represents the Dutch State in civil proceedings and preliminary relief proceedings with criminal and criminal law enforcement aspects.
She earned her BA in Law and Liberal Arts and Sciences from University College Utrecht and graduated cum laude with a master’s degree in Private Law from Utrecht University. She also studied in Granada, Spain, for six months. She is a (prospective) member of the Association of Civil Supreme Court Lawyers (VCCA), the Young Litigators Association (VJP), and the Expropriation Law Association (VvOR).
