Sebastiaan Cnossen has been with Pels Rijcken since 2016. He deals with the wide range of aspects related to European law, particularly state aid and competition law. Sebastiaan advises on various (sector-specific) regulatory issues and regularly represents regulatory authorities in proceedings.
Sebastiaan graduated cum laude from the University of Groningen with a master’s degree in European Law and International Relations and spent six months studying at Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires. Sebastiaan interned at various law firms in Brussels, followed by a brief stint at a Brussels lobbying firm. He completed a Blue Book Traineeship with the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission. Sebastiaan is a member of the Dutch Competition Law Association and the Dutch European Law Association, where he is involved in the organisation of the biennial international FIDE Congress scheduled to be held in The Hague in 2020 (FIDE2020).
